Passenger grimaces as man takes shoes off and hoists feet up on window on train

When you're on the train, the likelihood is that you'll be minding your own business, reading, listening to a podcast or music, chatting to whoever you're travelling with, or just watching the world pass you by as the train races to your destination whilst you pretend you're a main character in a movie.

But what would you do if someone interrupted your journey by putting their foot around the side of your seat, and it touched you? You'd probably be mortified and hope that they'd soon put their shoe back on, and place their foot on the ground where it's supposed to be whilst you're on public transport.

The passenger was shocked to see someone's toes in their personal space (Reddit)

Someone took to Reddit's 'Mildly Infuriating' forum to fume: "This guy's foot against the back of my train seat", with an accompanying picture of his foot, which thankfully has a sock on, wedged in between the seat and the window.

In the comments, people were horrified, but left some hilarious comments, with one suggesting "Spill your drink so he gets to experience a soaking wet sock for the trip lol." Another wrote: "Tickle tickle tickle." Someone else joked: "Take off his sock and paint his big toe."

And it's not the first time someone has had their personal space invaded on public transport - but some others weren't so kind with their revenge.

One man was horrified when a woman rested her bare foot on his armrest on a plane as he wrote: "This woman thinking my armrest is for her feet." People were disgusted, and urged him to confront her, writing: "Nah, nope, no, confront her and tell her about fungal infections, and how you don't want one." Another fumed: "Put your armrest up every time she puts her foot there."

Another passenger got 'mayonnaise revenge' on a plane passenger when he woke up from a nap to the feeling of a stranger's foot pressing against his forearm. "I nearly screamed", he wrote. "But I remembered I had a tube of mayonnaise from a sandwich I got in the terminal" which he put on the stranger's toes - gross.
