Police have announced more fines for breaches of Covid-19 rules and regulations at the top levels of government.

Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak are among those being fined as well as the Prime Minister's wife, Carrie Johnson. The Met police announced an additional 30 fines in relation to Operation Hillman on Tuesday morning (April 12).

A No 10 spokesperson confirmed later on that both Mr Johnson and Mr Sunak had been notified that police "intend to issue them with fixed penalty notices", and Mr Johnson has since confirmed that he will pay the fine. Scotland Yard has made a minimum of 50 referrals for fixed penalty notices - up from 20 at the end of March - to ACRO Criminal Records Office, which is responsible for giving out the fines.
