Partick to welcome new shop dedicated to making plant keeping more affordable

Plant keeping has become a popular hobby among Glasgow residents but it can be costly on the bank account.

Luckily for all the green-fingered Glaswegians out there, there's a new shop opening which offers an alternative.

Green Fingers will be opening its doors in Partick next month and will be the first plant shop to sell only discounted and reduced-price indoor and outdoor plants, recycled pots, and other garden supplies.

The shop is the brain child of Jordan Trainer who has worked in horticulture for over a decade.

He told Glasgow Live: "Rather than selling new products, the aim of this store is to reduce the amount of wastage and recycle what is already available. All of our plant stock will be purchased from local garden centres and plant nurseries that would normally discard these types of plants due to the fact they are not in the best aesthetic condition and despite them still being perfectly healthy.

"Plant keeping can be a fun but expensive hobby and with the current cost of living crisis, I wanted to provide an alternative place for people to shop local, save money and recycle as well as be able to provide great advice and customer service.'

Green Fingers will be opening on 410 Dumbarton Road in February.
