Partick Thistle and Airdrie fans 'clash in streets' before Scottish Cup tie as Firhill fixture turns nasty

A video circulating online purports to show Partick Thistle and Airdrie fans fighting in the street before the clubs' Scottish Cup fourth round tie.

The sides went head-to-head at Firhill eight months on from when the Jags pipped the Diamonds to the League One title with a game to spare.

And it was Ian McCall's side that came out on top once again on the park.

Brian Graham opened the scoring in the first half yet despite a red card for Tunji Akinola Airdrieonians couldn't find a way through.

The Firhill side were rewarded with another home tie against Dundee United in Saturday night's draw.

But it's claimed some Jags fans and their Lanarkshire counterparts scuffled in broad daylight before the game in a shocking clip.

Facebook page 'Scottish Football Away Days' shared the video that shows two large groups of men throwing punches and kicks as cars are held up in the middle of the road.

The violence then spreads to the pavement with the post captioned: "Partick Thistle & Airdrie fans clashing in the streets today."
