Parsons Appears to Be Recruiting DeAndre Hopkins to Cowboys

Cardinals star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is among the NFL stars that may be available via tradeCowboys linebacker Micah Parsons would love to see the five-time All-Pro make the move over to Dallas.

“@DeAndre Hopkins  it’s about that time 👀👀👀,” Parsons tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

He wasn’t alone, as cornerback Trevon Diggs chimed in to agree with the idea.

That message was enough to set off the rumor mill on its own. Unfortunately for Parsons, and others that would love to see Hopkins in the NFC East, it doesn’t sound like the two sides are a match.

NFL insider Jane Slater responded to the noise that bubbled up about Hopkins and the Cowboys shortly after Parsons’s tweet.

“To address my mentions, not sure where DHop/Cowboys talk is coming from but my sources tell me they haven’t approached it and nothing there right now,” she said.

Hopkins doesn’t have a lot to add to the conversation, either.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler recently discussed Hopkins’s trade value, pinning the potential return necessary to land him from Arizona at a “premium Day 2 [NFL draft] pick and more.”

When asked about the trade rumors during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this month, Hopkins said, “I’ve been hearing a lot of trade talks but I take things day to day, man. I don’t look forward to the future, I live in the present moment. Right now the Arizona Cardinals is the team and the roster I’m on, and I’m preparing myself for whatever the future holds.”

In nine games last season, Hopkins caught 64 passes for 717 yards and three touchdowns.
