Speaking to Belfast Live, Parkrunner Brenda Maguire said: "Francie is an inspiration to all of us. He has a really positive outlook on life and I know everyone at Falls Parkrun was really delighted to see Francie complete his 100 th run.
"He has had some injuries and setbacks this year but he's always determined to come along and take part or volunteer.
"Francie is a great example of the sense of community and unlikely friendships that Parkrun helps to bring about. He is always really supportive and encouraging to other runners and walkers. I hope I'm as fit as him in my 80s."
Parkrun is a free, weekly community event where runners and walkers take part in a 5km event - it is a positive and welcoming experience where there is no time limit.
Everyone is welcome to come along, whether you walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate.
Falls Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9.30am at the Falls Park, Falls Road.
