Paris Olympics: PV Sindhu storms into women's singles pre-quarterfinals

NEW DELHI: Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu defeated Estonia's Kristin Kuuba in straight sets on Wednesday in Paris to advance to the pre-quarterfinals of the Olympic Games' women's singles.

The two-time Olympian prevailed in her final Group M match, winning 21-5, 21-10, as per PTI.

Top-seeded Sindhu defeated Fathimath Abdul Razzaq of the Maldives 21-9 21-6 in her opening encounter.

For the round of 16, the winners of each of the 16 groups advance.

Prior to this, the Indian star won a bronze in the Tokyo Olympics and a silver at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
