The first phase of ticketing for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris begins today as the Worldwide scramble for tickets gets under way.
Demand for the 2024 Games is predicted to be at an all-time high. The lack of fans in attendance at last year's Games due to the covid pandemic and the fact that the Games are being held in Europe for the first time since London 2012 has contributed to this increase in demand.
The tickets are distributed via a lottery. This lottery began today and fans have until January 31 2023 to register their interest for tickets.

The first edition of the modern Olympic Games was held in London over 100 years ago in 1908. Since then, the Games have become one of the most popular sporting events in the World.
The last version of the Games was the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This event was delayed for a year and was staged behind closed doors in the Summer of 2021 as a result of the Covid pandemic.
The last Olympic Games to allow spectators therefore was the 2016 Rio Olympics. Over the course of a month, more than one million people visited Rio while the Olympics were taking place.
