German tennis star and current World No. 2 Alexander Zverev won his maiden Rolex Paris Masters title on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Zverev defeated hometown hero and fan favorite Ugo Humbert in straight sets. Humbert had an unbelievable run in the tournament including a win over Carlos Alcaraz.
Zverev was firmly in control of the match from the beginning and won in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

Upsets ruled the tournament, which kicked off with World No. 1 Jannik Sinner withdrawing due to illness. Americans Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz, and Ben Shelton suffered early-round losses.
Alexander Zverev is roaring into ATP Finals
Alexander Zverev is in peak form entering the ATP Finals, which begin on November 10, 2024, in Turin, Italy. With his strong finish this season, he has displaced Carlos Alcaraz from the World No. 2 ranking.
Zverev is a two-time ATP Finals champion in 2018 and 2021 taking out Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic to earn those victories. He has qualified for the ATP Finals seven out of the last eight years. He missed the event in 2022 after suffering his catastrophic ankle injury against Rafael Nadal at the French Open.
The Race for Turin
Alexander Zverev is one of five players who qualified for the event including Sinner, Alcaraz, Medvedev, and American Taylor Fritz. Three spots remain up in the air with Novak Djokovic who withdrew from Paris, Casper Ruud, Alex de Minaur, and Andrey Rublev in the running. Less than 200 ranking points separate the four players. Ruud, de Minaur, and Rublev are slated to play tournaments this week. Djokovic is not scheduled to play.

Zverev is the favorite
Play does not start for a week, and all of the players are yet to be named; however, Alexander Zverev has emerged as the favorite. He won the event two times previously and has been the most consistent player this fall.
