Paris Fashion Week has certainly been causing waves this season. In addition to stars like Doechii and Chappell Roan rocking some of the coolest looks around, we’ve also had controversies galore – among them, Paris Jackson’s choice of clothing.
The 26 year old model, who is of course Michael Jackson’s daughter, wore a black, sheer, off the shoulder dress to Stella McCartney’s Wednesday fashion week show – from McCartney’s own spring collection.
She’s not the only celeb to go sheer this year: Ice Spice wore a similar look at the same event, while Charli xcx turned up to the Brits last year in an all-sheer black dress. And Jackson herself posted another look on Friday at the starry Costes party, in a sheer turtleneck maxidress.
Apparently, though, not everybody is a fan. Jackson took to Instagram stories to defend the look this week, saying she’d gotten “a lot of mixed reviews with my choice of clothing” and had seen “a good amount of flack.”
“I would like to point out that everyone’s entitled to their own opinions,” she added. “And, we’re animals. At one point, we abided by the laws of nature.”
“There was a harmony [that] worked really well for the planet until one day, humans decided we're not animals, we're going to wear clothes and we're gonna rule over all the other animals. And a segregation was born and spoiler alert, that's why s**t got really bad.”
She rounded off by imploring her audience not to be “uncomfortable with our bodies. You've got one, I've got one, it's okay. There's nothing wrong with it. It's just a human body.”
“Let's do something for the environment, man, let's do something for the planet, man, stop freaking about nipples, man!”
It’s already been a big year for the model. In December, she announced that she was engaged to fiance Justin Long, sharing a birthday photo of him on one knee, holding a ring box – as well as photos of them kissing.
