Table tennis player Ibrahima Diaw on his Olympic journey for Senegal

EYE ON AFRICA © FRANCE 24

Ibrahima Diaw is representing Senegal at the 2024 Olympics in table tennis. He easily beat Nepal's Santoo Shrestha (4-0) in the first round, but fell to Hong Kong's Chun Ting Wong (4-3) in the round of 32 on July 29. This brings the 32-year-old player's Olympic tournament to a close. He shares with us his experience of the competition.

Also, Ghana is a step closer to having more women participating at the highest level in every aspect of its society. MPs have just passed a bill that sets a target to increase their numbers to at least 30 percent by 2030. The process has been in the pipeline for over 25 years.
