Parents will have to pay up to €10 a day to park at the new National Children's Hospital.
The parking charges at the hospital, which is being built on the site of St James's Hospital, will depend on the number of hours people park their cars. The charge for a full day will be €10 which will come as a blow to struggling parents.
The Department of Health is still in the planning stages of how the car park charges will operate with the HSE. A private provider will be engaged to run and manage it, the Irish Independent reports.

There will be a total of 1,000 car-parking spaces, 675 of which would be for families. a spokeswoman for the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (NPHDB) said. This is three times the available parking slots in three of Ireland's children's hospitals in Crumlin, Temple Street, and Tallaght.
Additionally, there will be 27 drop-off spaces for use in the event of emergencies directly outside the emergency department. There will also be a reservation parking system for planned visits.
