Food, energy and fuel concerns are pushing UK parents to the edge, with more than two-thirds admitting they are worried about how they will manage to pay for them, research has shown.
Parents described feeling “overwhelmed”, a “let-down” and a “failure” as cost-of-living pressures make it increasingly hard for them to afford essentials, a study for social innovation foundation Nesta found.
Their fears were revealed as it was estimated that 28 million people in Britain will be in fuel poverty by the New Year. Nesta commissioned Opinium Research to survey 5,000 parents between August 18 and 22, the largest survey of UK parents since the start of the pandemic in January 2020.
