Over a decade after losing their 'angel', the parents of a boy killed in a dog attack in Liverpool have called for law changes, saying they do not want other families to suffer in the way they have.
John-Paul Massey, 4, was killed by a pit bull terrier - a banned breed in the UK– at his grandmother’s home in Wavertree in November 2009. John-Paul's uncle Christian Foulkes admitted owning the animal and was jailed for four months in 2010.
Grandmother Helen Foulkes admitted one charge of keeping a dangerous dog and was given a four-month jail term, suspended for 18 months, and was banned from owning a dog again. After three-year-old Daniel Twigg died in a dog attack in Rochdale on May 15, John-Paul's mum and dad have spoken out and are calling for change.
