Parents Horrified After Finding Bowl Full of Razor Blades Outside Home on Halloween: 'You Hear of Stories'

“I’ve never ever seen that before. You hear of stories … with pins or razors or whatever, but I’ve never come across something like that,” said one mother who spoke to 660 NewsRadio. (Credit: City News Everywhere)

Canadian parents are outraged after someone jokingly left a bowl full of razors out on Halloween night in an effort to make a political statement.

A resident of Calgary's Bowness left out a bowl of razors in lieu of candy on Halloween night last week, including an accompanying note blaming Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for the increase in prices that supposedly made other treats unaffordable.

"Sorry we can't afford apples this year because of Trudeau. So this year just razors," said the note.

"I've never ever seen that before. You hear of stories ... with pins or razors or whatever, but I've never come across something like that," said one mother who spoke to 660 NewsRadio. She had reportedly been trick-or-treating with her two children when they came across the bowl of razors. She instructed her children to put the razors back after they unknowingly picked them up.

"It was unnecessary, political views have nothing to do with kids having fun on Halloween," she said. "That could be something that could be on your end, whether it be dark humour or sick jokes — whatever. Kids are out to have fun."

Police confirmed to 660 NewsRadio that the incident was reported to them but stated they currently lack sufficient evidence to make any arrests.
