Parents can now film reindeers in their very own home this Christmas

Christmas Eve is fast approaching, and little ones up and down the country will no doubt be getting excited for the most magical night of the year. For those children currently eagerly listening out for sleigh bells, a sweet and easy-to-use app could well help bring their festive daydreams to life.

The Reindeer Ready Live app, available from the McDonald's Reindeer Ready Hub, has been relaunched by the food chain ahead of Santa's upcoming visit and will be available to use up until December 26th. Parents wanting to sprinkle a little extra Christmas magic this year can use McDonald's Reindeer Ready Live technology to video reindeer in their very own homes, and it couldn't be easier to use.

The app is available from the McDonald's Reindeer Ready Hub (McDonald's)

All parents need to do is visit the McDonald's Reindeer Ready Hub on their phone or tablet - it won't work on your desktop - and use this to take a picture of part of your home, whether that be your living room, garden, or child's bedroom. You will need to be over the age of 18 to use it.

Once this snap is selected, you then need to wait for the reindeer and his box of treats to appear in it, using the 'flip the reindeer' option if needed. After agreeing to some terms and conditions, you'll then need to wait 30 seconds for the clip to process.

Once it's all finished, you'll be left with a very festive clip of a reindeer enjoying some snacks at your home, a video that will surely fill kids with wonder this Christmas Eve. In addition to this, McDonald's is also introducing its limited edition 99p 'Reindeer Treats', which can be left out ahead of Rudolph arriving on Saturday night.

Former footballer Jamie Redknapp has also teamed up with the fast food giant to narrate a festive audiobook called The Perfect Christmas List - a story about a little boy called Alfie who comes to realise the importance of spending time with family at Christmastime.

Redknapp said: "As a dad, I know how hard it can be getting everyone in the car at Christmas, but spending time with the family, wherever we are, is the most important part of the holiday for me, and anything we can enjoy together is always welcome.

"I hope the McDonald's festive audiobook brings a few smiles on those long drives coming up."
