Paras battalion banned from serving abroad after soldiers filmed and shared orgy

A Paras battalion is banned from serving abroad this summer after soldiers filmed an orgy and shared it throughout the military.

Members of 3 Para videoed themselves having sex with a woman at the Merville Barracks in Colchester.

Chief of the General Staff General Sir Patrick Sanders today decided 3 Para would not now join a NATO operation in Kosovo this summer.

A letter to all of the Parachute Regiment said the decision was “based on recent disciplinary incidents”. It said: “3 PARA accept they have temporarily lost the trust of CGS.”

A Royal Military Police probe launched to establish how the woman got into the barracks ruled that no laws had been broken.

One former soldier told the Mirror: “This means other troops will be sent at short notice to Kosovo. Everybody knows the Army is undermanned.

“This happening when there is a war in Europe is outrageous.”

An Army spokesman said: “All forms of unacceptable behaviour, including those of a sexual nature, have no place in an inclusive and respectful Armed Forces.”
