Paramount Pictures has recently acquired the screenplay for the upcoming erotic thriller 'Over Asking,' as confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. The studio successfully secured the feature spec script penned by Caroline Dries, known for her work on 'Batwoman.' The plot of the movie revolves around the unsettling aftermath of a chance meeting between a seemingly flawless couple and a formidable female attorney.

Notably, Karen Rosenfelt is onboard as the producer for the project, although a director has not yet been attached. Dries, who previously served as the showrunner for 'Batwoman' and held executive producer roles on 'The Vampire Diaries,' boasts an impressive television resume that includes popular series like 'Smallville,' 'Melrose Place,' 'Arrow,' and 'Gotham Knights.'

Rosenfelt, recognized for her work as an executive producer on the first 'Twilight' film and as a producer on subsequent installments of the franchise, has also contributed to hit movies such as 'The Devil Wears Prada,' 'Marley & Me,' 'Me Before You,' and 'The New Mutants.' In the realm of television, she has served as an executive producer on series like 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' and 'Dopesick.'

Paramount Pictures has been making significant moves recently, with news of an impending acquisition by a consortium led by Skydance. Additionally, the studio unveiled the first trailer for the highly anticipated historical epic 'Gladiator II,' directed by Ridley Scott. The star-studded cast includes Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, and Joseph Quinn. Scheduled for release on November 22, the sequel to the Oscar-winning 2000 film 'Gladiator,' starring Russell Crowe, is poised to be a major fall blockbuster for Paramount.

Deadline was the first to report on the sale of the 'Over Asking' script, adding to the buzz surrounding Paramount's recent developments in the entertainment industry.
