NEW DELHI: Indian discus thrower Vinod Kumar, who had lost his F-52 category bronze medal at the Tokyo Paralympics after being found ineligible in his disability classification assessment, was on Tuesday banned for two years by the Board of Appeal of Classification (BAC) for the intentional misrepresentation of his abilities during the Games.
The World Para Athletics, in a statement on its website, informed that the results obtained by Kumar at the Tokyo Paralympics have been disqualified after the athlete was observed performing several movements and functions in competition which were not consistent with his performance during the physical and technical aspects of classification.
