Para shuttlers confident of multiple gold at Paris Games

KOLKATA: It proved to be a disappointing outing for Indian shuttlers at Paris Olympics with Lakshya Sen coming closest to a medal with his fourth-place finish. But the Indian Paralympic contingent in badminton, who brought home four medals, including two gold, from Tokyo, is raring to change that story for India in the French capital.

That’s despite the most-decorated para shuttler among them — world No. 2 and defending Paralympic champion in SL3 category, Pramod Bhagat — having to stay back and serve an 18-month suspension for a whereabouts failure.
