A man and woman inside a house surrounded by armed police reportedly demanded "Papa John's pizza and cigarettes".
Police were called to Uplands in Runcorn on Thursday, August 19 at around 1.30pm as part of enquiries following an armed robbery in Widnes which took place earlier in the day. A man and a woman who lived at the address refused to leave the house and a number of threats were made.
The surrounding area was cordoned off and armed police and negotiators were called to the incident. When the ECHO attended the scene, residents said the pair were reportedly "asking for Papa John’s and cigarettes."
