Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini will be performing on popular BBC Two show Later... with Jools Holland, as he promotes the upcoming release of his new album, Last Night in the Bittersweet.

The official Jools Holland TV Twitter account posted the announcement with the caption: "We've got another huge line-up for you this weekend! We welcome @PaoloNutini, @IbeyiOfficial and @foals back to the show.

"Saturday 11th June, 10pm @BBCTwo & @BBCiPlayer."

Paisley-born Paolo will appear on the show to promote his new album and perform a few songs, with the chance of some of his new music being played on the programme.

Earlier this week, Glasgow Live reported that Paolo has co-wrote a new song on his album with quite the movie maverick in 2022.

Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino is credited as a songwriter on opening track titled Afterneath, after Paolo contacted the director to query whether he could include a passage form 1993 film True Romance.

Quentin is known for often dismissing requests of this nature but agreed on this occasion.

A source said: "Paolo is a big film fan and the section used in the song really resonated with him. Quentin never usually signs off on stuff like this but Paolo sent him the track and it turned out that he loved it and he gave the go-ahead.

“Paolo likes to make all of his music himself, but to have Tarantino’s name credited on your track is pretty cool.”

Last Night in the Bittersweet will be released on July 1, and features singles Lose It, Through The Echoes and Shine A Light.

Paolo will appear on Later...With Jools Holland on Saturday, June 11 at 10pm on BBC Two.
