Paolo Nutini given pint of Guinness midway through Irish show and says 'this is my kind of crowd'

Musician Paolo Nutini was given a warm Irish welcome at his latest gig after accepting a cold pint of Guinness from an ecstatic fan midway through his show.

Eimear McShane was over the moon when the New Shoes singer got up from his seat to accept the drink from her at The Milk Market in Limerick on Monday.

Video shows the 35-year-old singer from Paisley, Renfrewshire in Scotland walking over to the front of the stage with his guitar after spotting Eimear holding up a pint for him.

He then reaches over and slightly steps off stage to gratefully accept the Irish stout from the 24-year-old accountant.

The camera then flips around to see ecstatic Eimear punching the air as she shouts: “Go on, Paolo.”

The crowd erupts into cheers as Nutini makes his way back to his stool in the middle of the stage before he tells his fans: “Now this is my kind of crowd.”

The Jenny Don’t Be Hasty singer then places the pint down on a stand on stage before continuing with the show.

Eimear posted her video on TikTok yesterday, where it has received almost 30,000 views and over 3,000 likes from fans.

One said: “This is class. I’m absolutely sickened that I couldn’t get tickets.”

Another wrote: “Legend. He obviously needed that.”

A third commented: “I love him.”

A fourth simply stated: “Love this.”

Speaking today, Eimear told Deadline News: “It’s a small venue so it was an intimate gig that made it very easy for me to get up to the front to hand him the Guinness.

“Loads of people struggled to get tickets but I was lucky enough to get one for me and a few friends.

“I was delighted, I thought it was so funny and couldn’t believe he climbed off the stage to take it from me.

“I bought it specifically for him, I went to the bar to get myself and my friend a drink and asked the barman if he could get it to him from me.

“He said he couldn’t so I said I would hand deliver it myself.

“I also tried a security guard at the bottom of the stage to give it to him and also got a no but I’m happy they did since I got it to give it to him personally.”

Nutini is currently touring his latest album Last Night in the Bittersweet with his last date in the Emerald Isle tonight in Belfast.

The album reached number one after being released in July.
