Carolina Panthers wideout DJ Moore has never experienced playoff football in the NFL, and that’s not changing this season.
On Sunday, the Panthers were officially eliminated from postseason contention—dropping their Week 17 showdown and the NFC South to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The outing, one in which Carolina held an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter, saw some of the best from Moore—who amassed 117 receiving yards (his second-highest mark of the year) and a touchdown off six grabs.
Considering that lead and the fact that they just needed to win their final two games, this loss probably stings a bit more for the team and its standout pass catcher. And Moore, who’ll be entering his sixth pro campaign in 2023, told reporters on Monday that he doesn’t want to stay accustomed to that feeling.

The last time Carolina clinched a spot in the dance was back in 2017, the year before Moore was drafted. Since then, the Panthers have gone 28-53 and may have their fourth different head coach (including interim) come next season.
