Panthers to host pre-draft visits for 6 of 2022 draft’s top QBs

The Carolina Panthers’ power duo of Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer have been consistent in their messaging this offseason as they try to track down a quarterback. Both the third-year head coach and second-year general manager—as stated on multiple occasions—want to be aggressive, yet particular.

That methodical approach will continue into next week, as the team is set to host pre-draft visits for six of the 2022 NFL draft’s top passing prospects. According to The MMQB’s Albert Breer, the Panthers will be meeting with the following players in “staggered” sessions between Monday and Wednesday:

  • Malik Willis (Liberty University)
  • Kenny Pickett (University of Pittsburgh)
  • Matt Corral (University of Mississippi)
  • Desmond Ridder (University of Cincinnati)
  • Sam Howell (University of North Carolina)
  • Bailey Zappe (Western Kentucky University)

Carolina has already gotten some recent up-close looks at each of the quarterbacks—whether that be during Senior Bowl week, the NFL Scouting Combine or their respective pro days.

These pre-draft visits will now, presumably, help Rhule, Fitterer and the rest of the braintrust form their final evaluations on the prospects as we draw closer to the draft itself.
