The father of Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst tweeted on Wednesday his son is suffering from post-traumatic amnesia.
Jerry Hurst asked for prayers for his son and said he did not know when Hayden Hurst would return to the team.
@haydenrhurst has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Amnesia by an independent neurologist as a result of the hit he took in Chicago November 9. Slow recovery, don’t know when he’ll be back. Prayers appreciated!

The tight end offered some insight into how he is doing via tweets on Thursday.
While it was scary, it is NOT career ending. I’m starting my return to play this week, so fingers crossed I make it back for the last few weeks!
