Okay, we’re running ragged trying to keep up with all the history these Carolina Panthers have made this afternoon.
After officially hosting their coldest game ever at Bank of America Stadium and chalking up a franchise record 364 first-half yards, the Panthers continued to hit up the books. The dominant 37-23 victory over the Detroit Lions also saw Carolina amass the most rushing yards they ever have in a single game (320) as well as the most total yards in a single game (570).
That effort was led by running back D’Onta Foreman, who rushed for a career-high 165 yards and a touchdown off 21 attempts. Backfield mate Chuba Hubbard also lit up the Lions defense on Christmas Eve, dashing for 125 yards on 12 carries.
Carolina, additionally, got their best outing of the campaign from quarterback Sam Darnold, who was making his fourth start of 2022. He completed 15 of his 22 passes for 250 yards and a touchdown while adding another 21 yards and a score through the ground.
