The Carolina Panthers have cemented one of their building blocks for 2024 and beyond.
As announced on Thursday morning, the team has agreed to a long-term contract extension with running back Chuba Hubbard. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the deal is a four-year, $33.2 million pact with a maximum value of $37.2 million and $15 million in new fully guaranteed money.
Hubbard was selected by the Panthers in the fourth round of 2021 NFL draft. The Oklahoma State University standout came into the pros with a decorated collegiate career—as he earned a Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award, a Unanimous All-American nod and a First-team All-Big 12 selection as a Cowboy.
He has gone on to lead Carolina in rushing in two of his first three full seasons in the NFL. Hubbard ran for 612 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie in 2021 and for 902 yards and five touchdowns in 2023.
2024 has seen the 25-year-old as the engine of the ground game once again, as he’s totaled 665 rushing yards and five scores through nine games.
