Even as a rookie, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is as intelligent as they come at his position. But that doesn’t mean he still can’t learn a thing or two from the greatest to ever go under center.
Following his very first outing of organized team activities, the No. 1 overall pick hit the podium late Monday morning to speak with reporters. Young, right off the top, was asked about his trip to Los Angeles—where he participated in the NFLPA Rookie Premiere.
“It was a great experience,” he stated excitingly. “It was great to be with some of the rest of my rookie class. Us to go back and have a good weekend, obviously, with the NFLPA. I got a lot of wisdom out of it. But I’m definitely, definitely happy to be back.”
He also got a lot of wisdom out of the event that preceded it, a sit-down on Thursday with Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, rap star Travis Scott and former quarterback Tom Brady.
“There’s a lot of gems, lot of nuggets that I was able to take away,” he said of his chat with Brady. “I was able to ask some questions about his career, kinda, his mindset of going towards it. And for me, obviously being a young quarterback, I wanna know things that he wish he knew at this age and things that he felt like were key to him having success. I think that’s something that’s pretty invaluable, so I’ma keep it to who was in that room.
“But I definitely took away a lot. Being able to talk to one of the greatest to ever do it is a huge honor and privilege. So I was very grateful for that.”
