Panthers OT Taylor Moton’s impressive career-long streak will come to an end

Even an ironman can be vulnerable at times.

Carolina Panthers starting right tackle Taylor Moton left yesterday’s loss to the Chicago Bears with what was first listed as an elbow injury. Well, it turns out Moton is dealing with a triceps issue—one that is expected to sideline him for the very first time in his eight-year NFL career.

Head coach Dave Canales told reporters on Monday that Moton is considered “week-to-week” and will not play in the team’s upcoming matchup against the NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons. The 30-year-old has played in 120 of a possible 120 games since Carolina drafted him in 2017.

Not only has Moton appeared in every outing since becoming a pro, but he also hadn’t missed an offensive snap in the 76 contests prior to Sunday’s defeat in Chicago. Moton played each and every offensive down from Week 13 of the 2019 season up until his departure yesterday afternoon.

Per Canales, Yosh Nijman will start in place of Moton in Week 6.
