Shawn Jefferson is now free and clear to jet off to New Jersey.
As announced this evening, the Carolina Panthers have added Rob Moore as their new wide receivers coach. He is one of four offensive assistants the team officially hired on Tuesday.
Before becoming a coach, the Syracuse University standout compiled a pretty productive 10-year NFL career—one that resulted in a Pro Bowl selection for the 1994 campaign. A first-round pick in the 1990 supplemental draft by the New York Jets, Moore went on to record 628 receptions for 9,368 yards and 49 touchdowns over 153 games.
After working as a wide receivers coach at Montclair High School (2002 to 2003), Phoenix College (2009) and for his alma mater (2010 to 2012), Moore hit the NFL sidelines as the Buffalo Bills wide receivers coach in 2013. After two seasons in Orchard Park, he’d serve in the same role for the Oakland Raiders (2015 to 2017) and, most recently, the Tennessee Titans (2018 to 2023).
