Quite a few Carolina Panthers fans have gotten their wish.
As first reported by NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero on Monday, the team will be benching quarterback Bryce Young in favor of 14th-year veteran Andy Dalton beginning in Week 3. The move comes after a second straight flop from Young, who passed for a career-low 84 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Yesterday’s defeat also featured a fed-up fan base—one that not only booed the 2023 No. 1 overall pick, but called for the very decision that has been made this afternoon.
Here’s how the fans are feeling now . . .
It needed to happen. At least give me average QB play. https://t.co/nGdrDrUVLF

This is good for Bryce Young. He needs a complete reset. Watch the vet work and get your confidence back. #KeepPounding

For Bryce: Taking sacks in 4 down territory when he had plenty of time to throwaway lets you know he’s pressing and overthinking out there.
Time to sit prob is needed and was needed last year to start but it’s almost impossible to go back once you bench him. #WeGoneSee

Bryce Young got $38M for 18 starts. Sounds like a top QB to me.
