Panthers’ 3 biggest snubs from 2024 Pro Bowl Games

2-14 teams have Pro Bowl-worthy players, too!

The NFL announced this year’s rosters for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games on Wednesday night. As expected, the 2-14 Carolina Panthers didn’t have a single one of their players land a spot on the NFC squad.

While the team does have a handful of alternates for the all-star festivities, they still have a few gripes to take up with voters.

Here are three Panthers who were snubbed from tonight’s honors:

DT Derrick Brown

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Being named a first alternate doesn’t do this man any justice.

Already known as “Pro Bowler” to at least one pretty important individual on his sideline, Brown has pieced together a phenomenally productive campaign.

For one, he leads all defensive tackles (by a country mile) in run stop win rate (48 percent) and stops (48). The next closest players in those categories are Cleveland’s Dalvin Tomlinson (43 percent) and Minnesota’s Harrison Phillips (35).

Brown is also just three takedowns away from setting a new single-season record for most combined tackles by a defensive lineman.

WR Adam Thielen

Thielen deserves his flowers for not only serving as the safety net on this historically bad Panthers offense, but for doing so in his 10th NFL season.

With one game left to play, the 33-year-old is up to 101 receptions and 1,002 receiving yards—marking his second career 100-catch campaign and his first 1,000-yard one since 2018. His 75.4-percent catch rate is also the highest amongst all wide receivers with at least 80 grabs.

KR Raheem Blackshear

Despite his limited role on offense, the 25-year-old running back has carved out a place on special teams.

Blackshear has averaged 27.9 yards per kickoff return, the most amongst all players with at least 10 attempts. He’s also tied for the league-lead with two returns of at least 40 yards.
