Missing woman Pamela Hassan found in Newcastle

A 79-year-old Newcastle woman has been found after she briefly went missing on Saturday afternoon, February 17.

Police said in a brief statement around 5pm that Pamela Hassan, who was reported missing from a care facility at Waratah around 2pm, had been found by a member of the public who had contacted local officers.

The alarm was raised when Ms Hassan, who has dementia, could not be found on Saturday afternoon, prompting police to issue a geo-tagging text message alert to Newcastle residents.

Ms Hassan was found around 4.50pom, about tree hours after she was reported missing. Officers said in a statement that they were grateful for the public's help in finding her.

Pamela Hassan, aged 79, has been found.
