It's a busy time in our gardens, and that means I find it all too easy to forget what a wonderful privilege it is to grow plants and enjoy seeing the flowers bloom. Luckily, I had a timely reminder of this thanks to none other than Pamela Anderson.
Whether you're sorting out the garden this weekend or are cracking on with your September gardening jobs next week, it's all too easy to focus on the negatives. Too much weeding, the heatwave consequences or even a nasty case of black spot on your roses. I'm guilty of it all.
However, when I came across actress and model Pamela Anderson's Instagram reel (@pamelaanderson) on harvesting roses, I remembered that gardening should be celebrated and romanticised. Especially when you're picking beautiful florals from your very own garden, why shouldn't you be doing it in a flowing white linen dress?

It's not the first time I've been completely enamoured with Pamela's gardening set-up; the large overflowing raised beds her garden is made of are a true inspiration. In fact, her entire farmhouse property is something you don't usually expect from a celebrity home, but it's a welcome, refreshing change indeed.
Roses are some of the best cutting flowers you can grow in your garden, and luckily, once you've figured out their care needs, they aren't that difficult to grow and enjoy. Pamela has certainly mastered the art, as her roses are not only ginormous but incredibly bright too.
If you're growing your own roses, the latest peek into the star's gardening routine is going to be just as inspiring for you as it was for me. Pamela, looking as naturally glamorous as ever, starts with a bunch of fluffy pink roses in her hands.
And of course her essential garden tools: a pair of secateurs and thick gardening gloves with which she trims the stems and removes leaves.
Aside from the essentials, Pamela has injected whimsy into her flower harvesting with her charming wicker trug basket. Something as simple as this not only makes the job that much easier but is quite a special accessory to enjoy in your gardening.
Whether you're pruning your lavender or collecting tomatoes from your fruit-heavy plants, trugs are a really useful tool that will hang easily and rather chicly from your elbow. I'll be picking one up to help with autumn harvests and more.
Now inside, Pamela takes the impressive haul to her basin, which, in true farmhouse fashion, is a deep enamel sink. Trimming each stem with secateurs, she fills multiple mismatched vases with the flowers, placing them around her home to enjoy.
If this hasn't inspired you to get out in the garden and enjoy every moment, then I don't know what will; I'm going to get my secateurs out right now.
