Paloma Faith recalls ‘uncomfortable’ Kate meeting as singer admits faux pas

Paloma Faith recalled the time she made a faux pas in front of the Princess of Wales before using comedian Rosie Jones to get out of the conversation.

Speaking on her Mad, Sad and Bad Podcast alongside Jones on Tuesday (7 April), the singer recounted the time she spoke with Kate at the Royal Variety Performance in 2023.

After she congratulated Kate on losing weight “so quickly” after the birth of Prince Louis, Faith suddenly felt awkward and asked Jones, who was standing next to her, if they could make up an excuse to leave.

Faith said she looked at Jones and thought: “Can we just say that, because you’re disabled, we have to go, and you need me to help you?”

She said the comedian, who has ataxic cerebral palsy, “helped me in a very non-PC way by allowing me to abuse and use her disability to get myself out of a potentially uncomfortable situation.”
