Pakistan pacers achieve unique Asia Cup feat against India

NEW DELHI: Shaheen Afridi-led renowned Pakistani pace attack on Saturday created a unique record after bundling out India for 267 in the Asia Cup Group A match on Pallekele.

The pace trio comprising Shaheen (4/35), Naseem Shah (3/36) and Haris Rauf (3/58) shared all the 10 Indian wickets between them.

This marks the first occasion in Asia Cup (ODI) history when all 10 wickets have been taken by pacers.

While Shaheen bagged wickets of Rohit Sharma (10), Virat Kohli (4), Hardik Pandya (87) and Ravindra Jadeja (14), Naseem got rid of Shardul Thakur (3), Kuldeep Yadav (4) and Jasprit Bumrah (16).

Rauf on the other hand got wickets of Shubman Gill (10), Shreyas Iyer (14) and Ishan Kishan (82).

Doing the early damage, Shaheen and Naseem reduced India to 66 for 4 inside 15 overs but then a solid 138-run partnership between Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya took India out of troubled waters.

Towards the end, when India were looking to finish strongly. Naseem and Afridi denied them a final flourish, folding the arch-rivals in the penultimate over.
