The International Cricket Council's (ICC) virtual meeting to break the impasse over next year's Champions Trophy ended in a little over 15 minutes on Friday, and the deadlock between India and Pakistan continued. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stands by its decision to not travel to Pakistan to play the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stuck to its refusal of accepting a hybrid model where India can play all their matches at a neutral venue.
In such a scenario, moving the Champions Trophy out of Pakistan looks to be the likely option, with the tournament going ahead even without Pakistan unless they accept a hybrid model.
