A vile Paisley pervert has been slammed by a sheriff for contributing to the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
Craig Douglas, 23, was chased out of town after watching violent child sex abuse films over almost three years.
Douglas stored a sickening haul of photos and videos, which included an eight-year-old being subjected to a serious sexual assault, on his Samsung mobile.
Now the creep has been placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for three years with a list of conduct requirements that will prevent him from accessing the internet without prior approval and prevent him from deleting his internet browsing history.
At Paisley Sheriff Court, Sheriff Eoin McGinty slammed the first-time offender for his part in the vile crime.
“You’ll be aware society is revolted by these types of crimes.” Said Sheriff McGinty.
“Unfortunately these children suffer life-long mental trauma but they also suffer extreme physical injuries and later in life they become aware that people like you get gratification from watching them being abused.”

Procurator fiscal Kerri Marshall previously told the court that Douglas’ sickening crime was discovered when cops raided his family home in Blackstoun Road where he lived with his two older brothers and dad.
He was found with 15 Category A moving images, alongside multiple other videos and images varying in category.
Ms Marshall explained: “At about 7am on September 24, 2020, police attended at the locus in possession of a search warrant where entry was afforded by the accused’s father.
“On entry to the property, the accused and his brothers were traced within their respective bedrooms.
“A search commenced and DC McIntosh and Brennan seized from the accused a black Samsung mobile phone. The accused provided a pin code for the mobile.
“A black Dell laptop and a WD external hard drive was also seized from the accused’s bedroom, along with several other electronic devices seized from throughout the property.
“At about 8.30am, forensic computer analysts James McIntosh and Mark McLeod from the cybercrime unit attended at the locus and carried out a forensic examination of the devices recovered.
“FCA James McIntosh informed DC McIntosh that a quantity of Category A moving images had been recovered from the Samsung mobile belonging to the accused.
“The accused was arrested and taken to Greenock police station.”
The court heard a device examination was carried out by DC Allan Robb and Calum Baird from the cybercrime unit.
Their report showed that a total of 25 still and moving indecent images of children were recovered from the Samsung mobile.
Of these, 22 were accessible and could be broken down into categories, with category A being deemed the most disturbing.
There were 15 Category A videos, two Category B videos, one Category C video, one Category B image and three Category C images.
Ms Marshall explained an example of the Category A moving image showed, “a naked female child aged approximately eight-years-old” being raped.
Douglas pled guilty to keeping the horrific material at the family home between December 2017 and September 2020.
He also admitted that, in a similar timeframe at his then home address and elsewhere, he did take, or permit to be taken, indecent photographs of children.
Defence agent Mr Tierney told how Douglas no longer lives in the area as he was essentially “hounded out of town.”
Mr Tierney said: “Mr Douglas was 19 and 22 at the time of these offences and he now lives in the Scottish Borders.
“He understands these are very serious offences and has shown an encouraging degree of recognition of his behaviour and the consequences of the offences he pleaded guilty too.”
Sheriff Eoin McGinty placed Douglas under supervision of the social work department for three years and ordered to undertake any programmes and groups they recommend.
In addition, Douglas was placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for three years.
