Paisley last night welcomed thousands of visitors to its annual Halloween spectacular – one of the biggest and best of its kind in the UK.
The free-to-attend family event continues tonight with everything from arts and crafts to aerial acrobatics taking place against the backdrop of the illuminated Paisley Abbey.
The three-day festival has already seen the town centre come alive with attractions including aerial acrobats, a fire-breathing dragon, drummers, flame-throwers and a creepy spider’s lair.
The event – which runs from 6pm to 9pm tonight and tomorrow – includes live performances, specially-created installations, spoken-word projections and superhero-themed children’s activities; all on a theme of ‘heroes myths and legends’.
Good verses evil will battle it out as the All or Nothing professionals perform a gravity-defying battle from the heights of the Piazza roof.
Buddies should look skywards at 6.30pm and 8pm to catch this performance.
There will also be live performances from returning festival favourites Spark! LED Drummers and the flame-throwing Pyro-Celtica, while the award-winning theatre-makers Megahertz will stage a cult-inspired mobile dance performance.
The entertainment also features a host of local community performers.
Paisley Halloween Festival is delivered by Renfrewshire Council in partnership with internationally-recognised circus performance specialists Cirque Bijou and supported by EventScotland’s national events programme, in celebration of Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022.
