Paisley car 'deliberately' torched as police hunt three men in white van

Police have launched an investigation after a car was deliberately set alight in Paisley.

The Volkswagen Golf was parked in Thrushcraig Crescent when it was set on fire on purpose at around 8.20pm on Wednesday, October 26.

Enquiries so far have established that three people dressed in black were seen prior to the incident. The three suspects get out of a small white panel van and set fire to the car. They immediately get back in the van and make off. No-one was injured in this incident, however, the window of a house was also smashed.

The third suspect was wearing a black hat, black top, black trousers with white trainers. This person was carrying what looked like a baseball bat.

Officers are continuing to review CCTV footage for any additional information about the incident.

Detective Constable Gary Bruce said: “We believe this was a targeted attack and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen a white van in the area or who may have any information about the suspects to contact us. We are continuing to review CCTV footage from in and around this area and I would ask any motorists with dash cams, who were in the area at the time to check their footage as it could have images of the white van, which could assist in our investigation.”
