Two Georgia Bulldogs made the USA TODAY Sports midseason All-America team. One Bulldog, center Sedrick Van Pran, was highlighted as a narrow miss. USA TODAY picked Oregon center Jackson Powers Johnson over Sedrick Van Pran.
We think that Sedrick Van Pran should get the nod here. Van Pran and the Georgia offensive line had no presnap penalties on the road at Auburn. The Bulldogs have allowed only six sacks through seven games. Van Pran has lost just one start in his 37 career college starts.
Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, who just underwent ankle surgery, made the midseason All-America team. Bowers has 41 receptions for 567 receiving yards and five total touchdowns this season.
Bowers has been the best pound-for-pound player in the FBS.
The Bulldogs will greatly miss Bowers as Georgia enters its most challenging part of the schedule.
Lastly, Georgia sophomore safety Malaki Starks has made the midseason All-America team. Starks made a clutch interception to end the Auburn game.
Starks (25 tackles and two interceptions) has quickly evolved into the top safety in the country.
Starks has excellent range and should be a high draft selection in the 2025 NFL draft. Georgia needs Starks and the defense to generate more turnovers with Brock Bowers out.
