Padraic Maher forced to retire from hurling on medical grounds

Tipperary's Padraic Maher has been forced to retire from hurling on medical grounds.

The three-time All-Ireland winner was part of the Tipperary senior panel for 13 years and was nominated for the Hurler of the Year award in 2011 and 2016.

He also won six All-Stars and five Munster titles with the Premier County, as well as one Munster Championship with his club Thurles Sarsfields.
