Paddy Pimblett's UFC rival responds to expletive-ridden rematch message

Paddy Pimblett has been told that he knows he lost against Jared Gordon after issuing an X-rated rematch call-out from his hospital bed.

'The Baddy' extended his unbeaten UFC run against Gordon with a points win last December, but the outcome was controversial as it was labelled "one of the worst UFC decisions ever". Fans and fighters alike believe Gordon should have won the fight, with the fight stats showing that Gordon dominated Pimblett by landing more punches and takedowns across the three rounds.

Pimblett sustained a serious ankle injury in the fight and recently underwent surgery for the injury, sending an expletive-fuelled message to Gordon from his hospital bed. Gordon has now responded to Pimblett by tweeting: "Funny thing is going into this fight I had an ankle injury as well, documented by UFC. I couldn’t walk for weeks after our fight too. I get why he’s angry. He knows I won. Like the rest of the world."

Gordon is scheduled to fight fellow UFC veteran Bobby Green next month and Pimblett hopes his rival wins so they can meet in a rematch. "I want to punch his head in toward the end of the year,” Pimblett said on his YouTube channel. “I am going to run it back. I hope he beats Bobby Green, because I’ll snap his arm for him in a round.

“Had a boxing match with him and I still won, because you’re s***. I hope he watched this. You’re f****ng dog s***. At my worst, you couldn’t beat me at your best. Injured, everything going wrong, and you couldn’t beat me on my worst day, and I beat you on your best, because you’re a little bum."

Pimblett's recent ankle surgery has ruled him out of fighting for most of this year, but 'The Baddy' is hopeful of competing in the last quarter of 2023. The Scouser tapped out Kazula Vargas and Jordan Leavitt at last year's UFC London events before his controversial win over Gordon in Las Vegas. Pimblett has insisted Gordon only performed well in the fight because of his injury and their rematch would be one-sided in his favour.

"People are like, ‘Oh, Jared Gordon did so well.’ He only done well because me ankle was f*****. You stupid t***. And he’s just being a bitter little girl, going on every interview site, ‘Oh, I won that fight, I won that fight.’ Well lad, Joe Solecki beat you [in 2021] but you got a split decision, so shut your mouth," he added.
