Paddy Pimblett has revealed that he suffered an injury during his UFC 282 win against Jared Gordon two weeks ago, with the 27-year-old lightweight set to wait for a return to the Octagon.
Pimblett enjoyed a fourth successive win since his UFC debut just over a year ago as he beat Jared Gordon in Las Vegas earlier this month. The controversial win came at a cost for the former Cage Warriors star as he revealed the ankle injury he suffered during the contest which will affect his plans for next year.
He has been tipped for a fight against veteran Michael Johnson while UFC 286 takes place London in March. Pimblett explained on Wednesday that he wanted to fight again in early 2023 but those plans have been disrupted.

Pimblett was on the red carpet on Wednesday as he gathered among other stars of British sport in Salford for BBC Sports Personality of the Year. The Baddy spoke to Mirror Sport as he revealed the setback and that he was expecting to have a scan tomorrow in order to make plans for 2023.
"I was hoping to get a fight sorted for the New Year," He revealed. "But I need to get my ankle looked at which is being checked out tomorrow [Thursday]."
With his open relationship with the media, it is expected that Pimblett will reveal in the coming days the extent of the ankle injury which saw him limping from the Octagon in Las Vegas.
