Paddy Pimblett accepts fight with UFC rival who called him a "b****"

Paddy Pimblett has accepted Matt Frevola's callout after the American told him "don't be a b****" following his latest UFC win.

Frevola, 32, viciously knocked out top-ranked lightweight Drew Dober at UFC 288 this past weekend, a victory that will inevitably propel him into the 155lb rankings. 'Steamrolla' was quick to call for a fight against Pimblett next despite 'The Baddy' being an unranked lightweight and currently sidelined due to injury.

Pimblett has now accepted Frevola's callout as the Scouser thinks the fight is his easiest route into the lightweight rankings. “Bit of a weird time to call me out when I can’t even train,” Pimblett wrote on Instagram. “But yeah I’d fight Frevola when I’m back. Probably the easiest route into the top 15 [rankings]."

Frevola recited UFC badboy Chael Sonnen by telling Pimblett he "absolutely sucks" in his post-fight interview after knocking out Dober. Pimblett is unbeaten in the UFC since debuting for the promotion in September 2021, but his latest win was a controversial decision against Jared Gordon in a fight that many fans felt that he lost.

Frevola wants to be the first man to beat Pimblett in the UFC, telling Mirror Fighting: "I know I called him a b**** and I hope that ESPN didn't bleep that one out. That's it, he's got to stop being a b****.

"I want to be the first one to beat him in the UFC, I like to do things that nobody has done and my last two fights I beat undefeated guys, this fight I knocked out Drew Dober who's never been knocked out in the UFC."

"I want to be the first one to beat Paddy Pimblett in the octagon, it would be a fun one. I love the energy he brings to the octagon, the crowd that he brings and he goes for it on the feet, too. He throws on the feet and then he's got high level grappling and I think that's what excites me the most."

Frevola also challenged Pimblett to try and submit him following a viral video of 'The Baddy' tapping out 10 marines in a training exercise. "I love jiu-jitsu as well and I've seen him tapping out marines and stuff, I'm like 'Come on, try and tap me out'," he added. "I'm a soldier, I'm an army vet of eight years, try and tap me out! I know that he was there and he helped out the marines and did some cool stuff with them, but try to tap me, bro."
