Comedian Paddy McGuiness had fans in stitches online as he detailed why plans for his birthday had not quite gone as he'd hoped. The Phoenix Nights star posted a video from Instagram as he provided an edition of 'shower news - the drought edition'.
He told his 2 million followers: "I tell you what, this sun is gorgeous. It's red hot but I'm enjoying it. It's my birthday this weekend, August 14. Don't like to talk about it, the big 4-9.

"I thought I'd get in the garden with the kids, fill the paddling pool up and whack on the barby, but obviously, all that's out the window now." Paddy was referring to the sustained spell of hot weather and lack of rain which has led to a series of wildfires across the UK, including in Nottingham.
During the video, he was seen lathering shower gel on his dry body before hurriedly rinsing off. Fans recently found out that Christine, 32, and Paddy, 48, had split, ending their 11-year marriage, in July. The couple share nine-year-old twins Leo and Penelope and six-year-old daughter Felicity.
