Another free agent for the Kansas City Chiefs has found himself a new team.
Jarran Reed is signing with the Green Bay Packers according to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The Chiefs had signed Reed late last year on a one-year deal after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks. It took Reed a while to get settled in Kansas City, but he ultimately started all 20 games they played last season (including playoffs). He’ll finish his tenure with the Chiefs having recorded 43 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, 12 QB hits, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a pass batted.
Reed also took a visit with the Cincinnati Bengals earlier in this free agency period, but it appears he opted to join the NFC instead of a stacked AFC conference.
The #Packers are signing DT Jarran Reed, per source. He was there on a visit today.

It always felt like Reed’s one-year deal with the Chiefs wasn’t going to be much more than that. The contract for Reed in Green Bay will be something to keep an eye on for Kansas City. There is certainly potential for it to qualify the team for a compensatory draft pick in 2022.
