Packers S Xavier McKinney misses walk-through, expected back Wednesday

Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney was not present during Tuesday’s walk-through practice and was added to the injury report as a non-participant because of a personal issue.

Coach Matt LaFleur said he expected McKinney would be back on Tuesday night and available for Wednesday.

The Packers face the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

LaFleur’s team made three other adjustments to the injury report on Tuesday: Kenny Clark and Elgton Jenkins were full participants during the walk-through after resting on Monday, and Rasheed Walker (knee) was upgraded to a full participant.

The five players who were estimated as non-participants due to injuries on Monday did not practice again on Tuesday: cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee), linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring), receiver Romeo Doubs (concussion), tight end John FitzPatrick (back) and linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (ankle). All five must be considered in danger of not playing Thursday against the Dolphins.

LaFleur said he had concern over the depth of the linebacker position with both Cooper and McDuffie battling injuries and only three other healthy linebackers on the 53-man roster and practice squad. Veteran Jamin Davis was signed off the Packers’ practice squad by the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday. It’s possible LaFleur’s team will go into Thursday with only Quay Walker, Eric Wilson and rookie Ty’Ron Hopper as healthy linebackers.

LaFleur said Doubs was still in concussion protocol, but he was present on the sideline during the walk-through.

Interestingly enough, Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill was also a non-participant on Tuesday due to a personal issue. Like the Packers, the Dolphins held a walk-through on Tuesday. Miami added safety Patrick McMorris to the injury report with an ankle injury.
