Packers list 10 on first injury report of Week 5, including 5 DNPs Wednesday

The Green Bay Packers listed 10 players on the first injury report of Week 5, including six players who did not participate during Wednesday’s practice.

Matt LaFleur’s team plays the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

First, the good news: Cornerback Carrington Valentine (ankle) and offensive lineman Jordan Morgan (shoulder) returned to practice in a limited capacity. They both missed the last two weeks with injuries but are now trending toward availability for Sunday.

Quarterback Jordan Love (knee) was again listed as limited, but he is ramping up his practice reps and is inching closer and closer to full participation. Love said his knee felt fine after getting through his first start since the Week 1 injury.

Four players are dealing with new injuries and did not practice Wednesday: offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins (knee), tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle), receiver Christian Watson (ankle) and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt (ankle).

Cornerback Jaire Alexander (groin) did not practice after missing Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Neither did defensive lineman Kenny Clark, who has a lingering toe injury.

Not practicing on a Wednesday isn’t a sure sign either way for availability, but all six are worth monitoring the rest of the week. The Packers practice again Thursday and Friday.

One other injury of note: Rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper was limited with a hip injury. He had a hip injury during training camp, but it’s unclear if this injury is related.

The Packers got better than expected news on Watson, who has an ankle injury but isn’t expected to go on injured reserve. He will almost certainly miss Sunday’s trip to Los Angeles. The team is waiting for more information on Wyatt’s ankle injury. It’s unclear when Musgrave was injured.

The Rams were without receiver Cooper Kupp, who isn’t expected to play Sunday. Defensive lineman Larrell Murchison, cornerback Darious Williams and receiver Demarcus Robinson were all limited on Wednesday.

The Packers and Rams will put out an updated injury report on Thursday before releasing a final injury report on Friday.
